On November 25, 2017, the alternative rock band, Shoobies, from New Jersey, sat down for an interview for WRSU right before they hit the stage. WRSU alum Carla Marie visits from Portland!

Back home for the holidays, iHeart Radio Portland (Power 93.3) morning show host and WRSU alum (’10) Carla Marie returned to her roots the Thursday before Christmas.  The host of Carla Marie & Anthony on KPWK got her start at WRSU and debuted in commercial radio at Z-100 in New York with Elvis Duran.  She paid a visit to the College Avenue Campus to see one of her favorite professors, and – of course – stopped by where it all began for her:  the studios of WRSU!  See her Facebook post below!Carla Marie


WRSU Sports alum Erica Herskowitz recalls working with WFAN’s retiring Mike Francesa

As Resized952016090295125753WFAN talk show host Mike Francesa signs off for his final time Friday evening, WRSU alum Erica Herskowitz (’98) is featured in an nj.com article talking about her time working with him and Chris Russo, who made up New York’s popular “Mike and the Mad Dog” combo.  Erica talks about getting her “big break” thanks to Mike — he played her WRSU call of Geoff Billet’s buzzer-beater against Villanova in the Big East Tournament in 1998 — and much much more, in an article you can read here.

WRSU presents “From The Archives” as we near 70 years “On the Banks”

RU-USF Game ProgramWith WRSU approaching its 70th birthday on April 26th, 2018, we’ll be bringing you some great programs from our archives.  Some required us to dig deep (and boy, do we mean dig) while others were right at our fingertips.  Either way, they’re sure to be a great listen!

Every other Monday during the Fall and Spring semesters, join us Monday night at 8 for a look back at some classic broadcasts.  We’ve got one more broadcast this semester, with a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past:  our version of “A Christmas Carol” from 2010.

WRSU to rebroadcast Joe Biden’s remarks at “It’s On Us” rally Friday afternoon

More than 2,000 Rutgers students packed into the College Avenue Gym Thursday afternoon to see former Vice President Joe Biden address RU at an “It’s On Us” rally, a nationwide push to end sexual assault on college campuses.  BidenFor those who weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket or get into “The Barn” on the standby line, WRSU will broadcast the Vice President’s remarks in their entirety Friday afternoon.  Immediately following the News at Noon with Lauren Raposa, join News Director Lauren Forsman and Assistant News Director Ryan Berger as they present Biden’s remarks to Rutgers.

Come see WRSU at “Rock New Brunswick” in Boyd Park on Sunday, Sept. 10!

WRSU will be broadcasting live from Boyd Park from in New Brunswick from 4-5 pm this Sunday afternoon, September 10th, as more than a half-dozen bands perform on stage as part of the New Brunswick Arts concert series.  Join Frank Bridges, the host of our local music show “Overnight Sensations,” as he features local artists and interviews some of those playing the Boyd Park stage.  We’ll have WRSU giveaways, and there will be food trucks and much more at this free event, which is open to the public.  Rock New Brunswick runs from noon to 6 pm.  See the flyer below for more details!
